  • StandardAero is hiring Business Administration students for a Summer Student, Business Admin – Legal for Summer 2024.
  • The Manitoba Harm Reduction Network in collaboration with Wilfrid Laurier University is hiring a Research Project Coordinator to support the community-based research project “Art as Knowledge Mobilization: Amplifying Youth Voices to Inform Harm Reduction Practice for Preventing Youth Homelessness” in Winnipeg. Deadline is November 17.
  • The YMCA is hiring an After School Program, Inclusion Supervisor at Glenlawn Collegiate. Deadline is November 19.
  • The Canada Revenue Agency is hiring Indigenous Students for jobs in Winnipeg and across Western Canada. Learn more about current opportunities here.
  •  Interested in working in recreation? Visit Recreation and Leisure opportunities at the City of Winnipeg. Note: All applicants must have current Emergency First Aid and Level C CPR. CPR requires annual re-certification.
  • Looking to work as a TA or Grader/Marker during the 2023-24 academic year? Visit UM Careers to explore positions available in your faculty.
  • Work part-time with the Research Affiliate Program with the Government of Canada, while pursuing your studies. Conduct innovative research related to your degree or program, and gain experience with a federal department or agency. 
  • The City of Winnipeg is looking for a Library Service Assistant ½ – Serials Assistant – MISP03 (123961). Closing date is November 23.
  • The Government of Manitoba’s STEP Services Program is now accepting applications for Fall 2023 employment. Applicants must be returning to school the following academic year to be eligible. View full details and register on their website today! Registration is effective until December 2023.

Career Fairs, Information Sessions and Conferences provide an excellent way for you to learn more about your field, to network and to find the opportunities available in it.  Employers attend career fairs and trade show booths to inform students of future opportunities as well as look for talented students/graduates for current positions. Check out these upcoming events!

  • University of Manitoba’s Career Services and Indigenous Student Centre invite you to participate in our Mini Indigenous Career Fair. ** Come to Migizii Agamik (114 Sidney Smith St) on November 22, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. to learn more about current and future employment opportunities. Meet with employers and Industry professionals from Architecture49, Business Council of Manitoba, Centre for Aboriginal Human Resource Development, the City of Winnipeg, and more.
  • TD Commercial Banking is hosting an Employer Info/Recruitment event ** at the Bistro in University Centre on November 29, at 4:30 p.m. Register by November 28. There will be pizza and beverages for attendees!
  • Canada Life is hosting a Recruitment and Information session on the Emerging Leaders Program.  This is open to students from all faculty’s and disciplines.  This session will take place on campus, November 29, Room 244 University College, 2:00 p .m. – 4 p.m. Registration is required.
  • The Level UP program is a paid opportunity for students to work on short term remote projects.
  • To be eligible you must be a current student registered in a Canadian post-secondary education institution, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and are legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulation.
  • Manitoba Agriculture is hosting a free event: Ingredient Solutions for your Food Processing Business for Bioscience Association Manitoba (BAM) on November 16. Connect with ingredient suppliers from Canada and the US, participate in hands on demonstrations, and network.
  • HYPER Interactive Tech and Arts Conference ** is being held at the Red River College Downtown Campus.  Buy your tickets for this November 18 event early as the event sold out last year. Ticket pricing starts at $39.59.
  • The Canada Nationwide in partnership with the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is November 22. Register today!
  • Join the MEIA Cleantech Conference on November 22 where they will be showcasing innovative solutions to mitigate the climate crisis and make Manitoba businesses more profitable through sustainability. Student tickets are $25.
  • The MEIA Cleantech Conference is also looking for volunteers for the event. Perks include attending the preconference reception on November 21 for free, attending the conference for free, a free professional headshot from the Deb Tardiff Scholarship Fundraising Booth, free meals, and more.
  • Agriculture Manufacturers of Canada is hosting their Annual Convention and Trade Show in Regina, SK on November 22-23. Registration required.
  • Are you a full-time student and an entrepreneur? Enactus Canada has launched their annual Student Entrepreneur National Competition with prizes up to $10,000. Deadline for nomination process is end of day, December 5.
  • Modeled after the NCAA March Madness, Saint Mary’s University is hosting the Arena Pitch Competition ** which showcases post secondary student pitchers throughout the month of March. Deadline is January 20.
  • The Passion & Heart Scholarship is awarding $2000 to one student currently enrolled in programs vital to the future of the agriculture industry, such as: Agricultural Sciences, Food Sciences, Business and Economics, Engineering, Information Technology, and Software Development. Deadline to apply is February 1.
  •  Applications are open for undergraduate and graduate students for the 2024 Stu Clark New Venture Championships, hosted by the U of M. Teams will compete by presenting their business plans and video pitches, vying for over $60,000 in cash prizes. Deadline is February 20. Event takes place April 18-20.
  • RRC is hosting Sprint to Innovate Challenge, ** February 1-4.  Teams of 4 to 6 students will choose from available business challenges provided by industry and work together to create a solution, including developing a prototype, to be presented to judges on the final day. Register your team today!
